Breve Nota Explicativa sobre a APSPor "Uma Sociologia Sem Fronteiras" é o título da primeira aula pública de sociologia ﴾A.P.S﴿, da Associação Moçambicana de Sociologia ﴾A.M.S﴿, a ser proferida pelo Prof. Luís de Brito, no dia 12 de Outubro de 2011, na Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Eduardo Mondlane. A direcção da A.M.S tem a honra e o prazer de convidar a comunidade de sociólogos, de/em Moçambique, académicos das diversas áreas disciplinares, políticos, a sociedade civil, e o publico em geral a participar desde evento inédito e singular na incipiente historia da sociologia no país. Jamais nos anais da história da sociologia em Moçambique teve lugar um evento análogo. Por esta razão, este momento carrega consigo um significado especial e singular para a A.M.S.
O que é a A.P.S da A.M.S?
A APS é uma iniciativa da direcção máxima da A.M.S que procura reconhecer e distinguir publicamente individualidades e/ou entidades nacionais e/ou estrangeiras que se tenham destacado ao contribuir para o desenvolvimento da sociologia. A ideia principal é convidar um académico de reconhecido mérito na sociologia ou áreas afins à partilhar a sua formulação sociológica de um problema específico da disciplina ou identificado em torno de um tema. A aula pública, portanto, vai ser um evento público onde o orador convidado aborda os aspectos centrais da sua investigação sobre determinado assunto. Por norma, será dada preferência à sociólogos moçambicanos como forma de divulgar sua pesquisa e ideias à um público mais alargado.
Quem é Luís de Brito?
Conhecido pelos seus alunos simplesmente por professor Luís de Brito, Luís Manuel Cerqueira de Brito nasceu em Moçambique e concluiu seu bacharelato em História na Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, Maputo, em 1976. Neste mesmo ano, iniciou sua carreira académica integrando a equipe de pesquisadores que criou o Centro de Estudos Africanos da Universidade Eduardo Mondlane. Simultaneamente à pesquisa, especializou-se em Estudos de Desenvolvimento no Centro de Estudos Africanos, obtendo seu diploma em 1981. No ano de 1992, concluiu seu PhD na Université de Paris VIII. Actualmente é pesquisador permanente do Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Económicos (IESE) de Moçambique.
